Why we built this

The privacy industry made promises it couldn't keep.

For two decades, consumer privacy apps made bold claims and delivered weak results. Server-side processing, vague data policies, and architecture that was secure in marketing but not in practice left high-risk users — journalists, executives, activists, survivors — exposed when it mattered most.

CloakLoc is built differently. Everything that matters happens on your device. Your location, your movement patterns, your communications — none of it touches our servers. We designed the system so that even if we wanted to access your data, we couldn't. That is the only privacy guarantee worth making.

We exist to give people back control over their own location and communications. Every technical decision is measured against that goal.

We would rather serve one million users perfectly than one hundred million carelessly. Quality is operational.

How we're funded

Transparent capital. Aligned incentives.

CloakLoc is independently funded by investors who share our conviction that privacy is worth building a business around. We will publish a transparency report at launch covering our company policies and how user trust is maintained.

We do not, and will never, sell user data. We do not display advertising. Our business model is simple: users pay for the product, and the product protects them.
